Really digging this composition except for the maintenance cranes struck between its spires.

Will have to revisit this shot again sometime when there is no construction equipment around.

Next up is a night shoot down this area.

Newburgh City Club

At 120 Grand Street in Newburgh, a skeleton made of sandstone stands guard near the south end of the public library. To the casual passerby, it looks like just another victim of time and neglect. But for those who know the history of the Hudson Valley, this shell of a building is a heartbreak. It is the ghost of the City Club, a structure that has survived wrecking balls and urban renewal projects only to be hollowed out by a suspicious fire and left to rot in the open air. The tragedy of this building is not just about old bricks. It is about pedigree. This home was commissioned around 1850 for Dr. William A.M. Culbert, a homeopathic doctor who had married into the wealthy Powell family. When I arrived at the former Aerosol Techniques factory, I was filled with a mix of anticipation and curiosity. Meeting a group of new friends for a day of urban exploration in Connecticut, we had a lineup of intriguing abandoned sites on our agenda. Our itinerary included the hauntingly beautiful Seaside Sanatorium, a former hospital, along with a few other potential spots that we were less certain about. We chose the factory as our starting point, mainly because it offered easy access and was conveniently situated next to a Lowe's hardware store. Walking along a well-trodden path, our group made a seamless transition onto the property. The sense of camaraderie was palpable as we embarked on our adventure with eager enthusiasm. Historic Killingly Ballouville Mill

  As I recall that April day in 2018, the memory unfolds with the vividness of a carefully preserved photograph. The sky, a vast expanse of unyielding blue, served as the perfect backdrop for our excursion. J and I, driven by curiosity and a keen sense of adventure, stood at the threshold of the historic Ballouville Mill in Killingly, Connecticut. This relic of a bygone industrial era was nestled imposingly between two homes as if guarding the secrets of its storied past. Our entry into the mill was less an act of intrusion and more a gentle push through time's veil. An opening – not quite a door, nor a window – beckoned us into the heart of a forgotten world. Inside, the mill presented itself as a cathedral of industry, now silent and solemn. Wooden beams and columns, like the ribs of a great leviathan, stretched upwards, supporting the weight of history and time.
